In this White Paper, Ipsos Health refers to recent research that addresses the wide-scale healthcare problem of mal-adherence (the failure of patients to take their medicine as prescribed).
Following an extensive review of prior research with patients and other healthcare system stakeholders, as well as by conducting our own research with regard to drivers of mal-adherence, Ipsos Health has developed an Adherence Dynamics research model to uncover the highly motivating drivers that will assure greater adherence to prescription and other therapeutic initiatives. The Adherence Dynamics model approach identifies patient segments in terms of their mal-adherent situations and their specific underlying motivational states. This approach allows stakeholders to focus the development of adherence initiatives on segments of patients that are significant in size as well as having reasonable potential to improve their adherence.
