Ipsos strengthens its presence in Central America and Caribbean

Ipsos to acquire Hispania Research Corporation

Paris, 22 June 2004. Didier Truchot and Jean-Marc Lech, Ipsos co-chairmen, today announced the signing of an agreement for the acquisition by Ipsos of Hispania Research Corporation, a company based in Puerto Rico and Panama.

With this acquisition, Ipsos which already has operations in Costa Rica and Dominican Republic, will significantly increase its presence in Central America and the Caribbean. With 25 million US dollars annual research expenditure, Puerto Rico accounts for 50% of the region's market.

Hispania Research Corporation, which generated 3.5 million US dollars in revenue during the last fiscal year, accounts for 12% of the market research industry in Puerto Rico where it ranks second. The company also has a subsidiary in Panama.

Founded in 1985 by a group of market research professionals, Hispania Research Corporation is currently chaired by Mr Pablo Jose Rivera. The company specializes in marketing research, with both qualitative and quantitative expertise and is also involved in quality and customer relationship management research programs.

The company employs 25 full-time staff and serves major clients in the FMCG, financial and telecommunications sectors.
