The presidential primary and caucus season, which officially started on February 3, allows the two major parties to designate their candidate in the eagerly awaited election on November 3. For the Republican Party, this step remains highly symbolic: President Trump should easily win his party's nomination. However, in the Democratic camp, the question remains: who will face Trump in November 2020?
This international conference, scheduled for March 12, is organized by the Center for United States Studies of the Raoul-Dandurand Chair at the University of Quebec – Montreal (UQAM). It will bring together international experts, professors, researchers, and government representatives. It will allow to take stock of the race for the Democratic nomination, and to look into the domestic and foreign policy issues that matter to Americans. In addition, it will be an opportunity to discuss the impact of this race on Quebec and Canada.
