Definition

GSR measures electrodermal activity by detecting the resistance of the passage of a very small electric current though the skin. It has been shown that the magnitude of this electrical resistance is affected by a person's immediate mood, arousal, and emotional reactions. Also known as psycho-galvanometer, electrodermal activity (EDA), skin conductance response (SCR), electrodermal response (EDR), and skin conductance level (SCL), GSR is one of the primary "biometrics" used in neuro market research for determining nonconscious arousal to stimuli.
