With vacation season in full swing, many of us are solidifying last-minute travel plans or checking off final to-dos before heading out to enjoy some time away. While Summer offers the chance to escape the daily routine, for some, travel is top of mind year-round. This is definitely true for affluent consumers who spend 49% of the total dollars in the travel category, despite being just 17% of the total population. This month we’re taking a deeper dive into our latest Affluent Survey Data to provide a quick snapshot of five easily targetable Affluent Traveler segments.
Attitudes to Europe on the eve of the 2019 European Elections
New Ipsos global study shows nearly half of people in 10 European countries think things across the EU are on the wrong track – but less pessimistic than in 2017. 44% say they are not very interested in the upcoming European Parliament elections. Worldwide, half think the European project as a whole has made Europe stronger.
Final Election Outlook 7 May 2019 in South Africa
With service delivery in the spotlight over the last few months, the most important post-1994 election in South Africa’s history will take place on Wednesday 8 May 2019 and, in spite of the electorate’s unhappiness about service delivery and other issues, it is unlikely that the low turnout figure and the phenomenon of ANC “stay-away voters” of the local government elections of August 2016 will be repeated.
