Consumer Confidence Survey - March 2021

Here the major findings from this research.
- In line with recent quarterly reads, 3 in 4 Pakistanis continue to think that country is heading in the wrong direction
- 7 in 10 Pakistanis dissatisfied with the way things are going on in the country today,
- Increase in inflation is the most worrisome issue in Pakistan, followed by unemployment. On the contrary, one year on, COVID-19 remains the greatest (45%) global concern, an average from 27 countries’ survey.
- Corruption, bribery, adulteration & Nepotism, appear to be biggest concern in KPK, followed closely by Sind. Freedom of speech & censorship on media, make its position amongst top 5 concerns, in Balochistan.
- Only 1 in 10 Pakistanis rated current local economy as strong. Looking ahead 6 months from now, 2 in 5 Pakistanis fear our economy getting even weaker
- Only 1 in 10 Pakistanis consider their personal financial situation as strong. 4 in 10 Pakistanis expect this to be even weaker in next 6 months.
- 4 in 5 Pakistanis feel less confident about their job security. 2 in 5 know someone personally who lost their jobs in last year, because of economic conditions.
- 3 in 4 Pakistanis are uncertain about their job continuation in next 6 months.
- In comparison to one year before, 8 out of 10 Pakistanis are feeling less comfortable while purchasing general household items as well as major ones like cars, homes etc.
- 8 out of 10 Pakistanis feel less confident about their ability to save and invest in the future.
