What is iMOB?

iMOB is a group of Australian First Nations peoples who are interested in taking part in paid market and social research surveys.

iMOB was formed by the Ipsos Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Unit (ATSIRU) in 2023 to strengthen the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice in our research projects and give people an opportunity to volunteer to participate in paid online surveys, focus groups or to complete interviews over the phone or possibly even face-to-face.

iMOB for Participants

All iMOB surveys are paid via direct bank transfer. iMob members designate their preferred bank account for payment and payments are processed by our dedicated team.

To save you time and better direct appropriate surveys to you, on joining, you will be asked to complete an initial survey which tells us all about you and saves you having to repeat entering this information with each survey. It also helps us target the right surveys to the right people, because we don’t want to annoy you with a survey about the beach if you live in the country, or other things that may not relate to you.

All iMOB surveys are voluntary. While we would like and encourage you to participate in any survey we invite you to take part in, you can chose which surveys you want to complete and how often you participate. You do not have to answer any questions you would prefer not to answer.

All surveys, research and evaluation opportunities will come with information which outlines the intentions of the research, how long a survey is expected to take, how much you will be paid for completing it. . . Your consent to participate is assumed when you provide answers to a survey.

You will be sent surveys from [email protected] and we ask iMob members to flag this sender as a trusted sender.

iMOB is growing daily across Australia and is only for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people over the age of 18. The more Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people we have on the panel the stronger Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s voices will get, so please ask your family and friends to join, it’s free to join and you get paid for each survey you complete.
