Inflation remains the number one concern in What Worries the World for the 18th month in a row.

Inflation has now been the top global concern in our What Worries the World survey for the last 16 months.

The long reign of Coronavirus as our survey’s top global concern comes to an end in October 2021. It falls to third place in our issues ranking – behind poverty & social inequality and unemployment.

AXA has released the eighth edition of its Future Risks Report. This global study measures and ranks the evolution of the perception of emerging risks as seen by a panel of risk management experts as well as by public opinion. More than 23,000 people were surveyed. This report is produced in partnership with Ipsos and the geopolitical analysis consultancy Eurasia Group.

Global concern about Coronavirus is once more on the increase. We approach the end of the year with almost two-thirds across 27 nations saying that things in their country are on the wrong track.

Six months of data reveal how Coronavirus has shaped countries’ concerns.

Poverty & social inequality continues to be the greatest concern worldwide. We start the year with 61% globally saying that things in their country are heading in the wrong direction, up four points on 12 months ago.
