Changing attitudes & actions in Switzerland to combat climate change
This year, Promarca once again conducted a sustainability survey in collaboration with Ipsos in Switzerland.
Many Promarca members provide Swiss consumers with information that enables them to use and consume products more sustainably. Other measures include the traceability of products or raw materials across all stages and the definition of targets in accordance with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI). Promarca members are also committed to further reducing plastic and packaging materials by reducing packaging weight, using different materials and opting for recyclable materials.
Swiss consumers need more information in order to make informed decisions about sustainability.
However, the study shows a polarization of the Swiss population regarding the economic costs of climate change compared to the costs of measures to mitigate it. Unfortunately, there is still a considerable proportion of the Swiss population that considers the costs of measures to combat climate change to be higher than the costs of climate change itself. There is still a lot of work to be done.
