The vast majority (97%) of individuals in Jordan are familiar with the term sustainability, and they mostly link it to the topics of renewable energy sources and natural resources conservation.

When it comes to actions taken to live more sustainably, the majority of the population (92%) have also taken steps towards a more sustainable lifestyle although these tend to be easy to medium effort actions such as using low-energy lightbulbs. While around 9 in 10 express their willingness to make lifestyle compromises to benefit the environment, 54% are unclear about what they can do to make a difference when it comes to climate change.

In terms of corporate responsibility, 4 in 5 believe that companies in Jordan lack in terms of supporting sustainability and ethical best practices but consider technology and clothing companies to be the most active on sustainability.

In addition, when considering the overall cost implications of sustainable practices, 8 in 10 believe that the responsibility for such expenses should lie with governments.
