The Australian Financial Review and Ipsos partner for political polling in the lead up to the 2022 Federal Election
The Australian Financial Review is partnering with Ipsos to undertake political polling and focus groups during the campaign period leading up to this year’s Federal Election.
Ipsos is the leading global polling company, with more than 30 years’ experience in conducting election polling across many countries and has been polling in Australia since 2014.
The design of the Ipsos poll for the 2022 Federal Election will combine online, mobile and landline telephone surveys to accurately represent the views of the Australian population.
Ipsos Australia CEO, Simon Wake, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the AFR during the Federal Election period. Like the AFR, Ipsos believes that high quality election polling matters, and makes a significant contribution to the political debate during the election campaign period.”
As a founding member of the Australian Polling Council, the Ipsos polling will comply with the Council’s Code of Conduct, including publication of the required methodology statement, and will carry the Australian Polling Council’s Quality Mark.
The challenges of the 2019 Federal Election highlighted the difficulties of polling, and the need for constant review and innovation in polling approaches. The Ipsos Australia polling team, led by Ipsos Public Affairs Director, Jess Elgood, works closely with the global Ipsos polling team to ensure that best practice is integral to its approach.
