Close to half of Australians support marijuana legalisation

In March, we asked 1022 Australians whether they would support or oppose a law to make it legal for people to grow and possess marijuana for personal use.

While almost one out-of-every two (45%) were supportive of the change, 32% were opposed, with the remaining 23% were neutral.

While Millennials (those aged between 23 and 38 years) were more than twice as likely to support (57%) than oppose (22%) legalisation, and the opposite was true for older Australians, with members of the Builder generation (those aged between 74 and 91 years) twice as likely to oppose (53%) than support (26%) such a shift.
