This month sees one of the biggest global events, Earth Day, which promotes environmental consciousness and raises awareness of the issues our planet faces. This year's theme,  “Invest in Our Planet”, urges governments, businesses and society to cooperate in combatting climate change by investing in a greener economy. However, Ipsos’ 2023 Earth Day research finds that just under a third (31%) of global citizens agree that their government has a clear plan in place for how government, businesses and people are going to work together to tackle climate change.

Our latest whitepaper in the ESG series, ‘Embedding ESG in Experience’, explores the role of business and why grounding sustainability in the customer experience can deliver value as well as doing right by the environment. The importance of customer experience in encouraging people to transition to a greener world is particularly clear in the automotive sector, with vehicle electrification facing a number of hurdles. For example, Ipsos research finds that recommendation levels for the vehicle brand plummets by over 50% when an electric vehicle owner has a bad experience at a public charging station.
