DATA SCIENTIST - GMU AA
JOB PURPOSE
GMU Advanced Analytics is a back-end support team to the global Ipsos research/account teams on statistical solutions includes both general statistics, such as significant test, correlation and special analytical tools developed by Ipsos (for which training will be provided) and other custom ad-hoc requests.
Following templates, analysts in the team will be required to take raw datasets and create bespoke and consistent core deliverables. The deliverables take the form of Tableau dashboards, online portal, Excel macro template etc. The role will require working closely with research teams across all regions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Create Bespoke Tableau dashboards for the research teams across Ipsos Global
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly updates on Tableau dashboards reporting
- Understand general statistics and Ipsos specialized analytical tools
- Day-to-day project management (analytics stage) and client engagement
- Receive raw datasets from data processing and/or research teams (Excel / SPSS)
- Manipulate data into correct format for analysis purposes using Tableau Prep, Excel or SPSS
- Senior Data Scientist able to advice and suggest on the dashboard design and data visualization
- Senior Data Scientist able to answer technical queries on Tableau from the research teams

QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduates or degree holders in Computer Science, IT, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' work experience in Tabeau for Senior Data Scientist
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- The following skills will be an added advantage but not mandatory – on the job training will be provided:
- Strong technical skills in data manipulation e.g. using Excel or software such as SPSS, Tableau Prep
- Experienced in business intelligence tools e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense or equivalent software.
- Strong general analytical skills using quantitative data
- Able to understand the relationship/logic between data and report/visualization
- Proficient in Excel and advanced formula
- Proficient in VBA or Python - Strong command of both written and spoken English
- Must enjoy working with colleagues across the globe
- Ability to multitask
- Good time management skills especially working across with the globe
