RESPONSIBILITIES
General support of Ipsos entities in Asia Pacific (excluding China) on a variety of legal issues. More specifically, the legal counsel will be responsible for the following:
(A) Corporate
- Assisting General Counsel in preparing and overseeing company policies reasonably necessary for efficient management of the business in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Assisting the group secretariat team from time to time to co-ordinate corporate housekeeping.
(B) Commercial
- Draft, review and negotiate client and vendor contracts. Wok closely with client service teams to resolve legal issues related to commercial relationships between Ipsos entities and their clients.
- Create/update legal forms for a variety of contracts.
(C) Litigation
- Advise the client service team/relevant CFOs in relation to disputes between Ipsos entities and their clients.
- Assisting General Counsel in overseeing outside counsel on ligation matters.
(D) Training
- Prepare and conduct training to employees in the region on legal related topic. For example, training to the employees on contract management, appropriate workplace behaviour, debt recovery,anti-bribery, etc.
(E) Administrative
- Provide administrative support to the work assignment system for the Asia Pacific legal team.
LEGAL BACKGROUND
- At least 4 years PQE experience, preferably having working both in a private practice law firm and an in-house legal environment.
- Experience in the following areas:
- Corporate housekeeping
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (client and vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, etc.)
- Knowledge of data protection and privacy law
- LLB or LLB equivalent required
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Excellent time management and organization skills, ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced high-growth environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Confidence to take action and make decisions within the parameters of authority set by the group legal team.
- A high level of flexibility and initiative. Sense of ownership of responsibilities
