Views on Climate Change in MENA

How do people in MENA see climate change and its impact on the region?

Climate change has been a main concern around the world, with the rise of global warming. In the MENA region, residents were surveyed to identify their perceptions on the causes, implications, and personal responsibility towards this phenomenon.

The majority believe that climate change exists, however opinions were divided between those who think that this is caused by human activity and those who believe that this is part of the cycle of nature.

People were also quite divided when it came to responsibilities for environmental sustainability, with the highest percentage placing the responsibility on society itself, but with a good number of people also saying that government and businesses have a role to play. Some people are playing their part in the battle against climate change, with actions that include using energy-saving lights, less water usage and recycling at home, among others.
