Ipsos Affluent Asia Study launches for 19th year, revealing latest trends for Asia’s Affluent population on lifestyle, spending and media consumption.

SINGAPORE – Global Market Research firm Ipsos today release the 2015 Ipsos Affluent Asia survey results, Asia’s most comprehensive survey of the upscale affluent market covering 10 countries across the region.

The 2015 Ipsos Affluent Asia study surveyed the affluent groups in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Korea and Australia. The survey is conducted year-round, and Ipsos spoke with 19,045 affluent people across the region (with 1,684 of them from Singapore) to obtain the 2015 results.

Business as usual for the Singapore Affluent population

The Singapore affluent population knows no crisis as investments, purchases and travel all rise for its affluent population and lead the way in the region.

Travel is on the rise for the Singapore Affluent, with 53% making at least one international business trip in the past year (against 48% in 2014) and 25% at least three (against 22% in 2014) – both falling into top 3 percentages in the region.

Even more revealing, 14% now fly in First or Business class for business trips, twice as much as last year (7%). Leisure trips are also on the rise with 88% (against 82%) making at least one leisure trip in the past year, also the highest percentage in the region.
