SNACK REPORT: MOST CANADIANS (81%) EAT SNACK FOOD EVERY DAY
This Angus Reid Group poll was conducted by telephone between May 11th and May 17th, 1999 among a representative cross-section of 1,515 adult Canadians.
These data were statistically weighted to ensure the sample's regional and age/sex composition reflects that of the actual Canadian adult population according to the 1996 Census data.
With a national sample of 1,515 one can say with 95 percent certainty that the results are within +2.5 percentage points of what they would have been had the entire adult Canadian population been polled. The margin of error will be much larger within regions and for other sub-groupings of the survey population.
A new Angus Reid Group survey conducted on behalf of Balance Bar Company shows that most Canadians (81%) usually snack at least once every day. Half (49%) say they snack less often than they did three years ago, while the other half either snack more often (22%) or the same amount as they used to. Seven in ten (68%) Canadians agree that convenience is usually the motivating factor in their choice of snacks. As well, most Canadians (78%) say that they would like their snacks to have some nutritional value.
These are the findings from an Angus Reid Group survey of 1,515 adult Canadians conducted between April 11th and April 17th, 1999. With a national sample of this size, one can say with 95 percent certainty that the overall results are within +2.5 percentage points of what they would have been had the entire adult Canadian population been polled. The margin of error will be much larger within regions and for other sub-groupings of the survey population.
