Indonesia’s consumer confidence shows a downward trend in March 2026, reflecting growing caution—especially around future expectations.

These findings are based on data from a monthly 30-country survey conducted by Ipsos on its Global Advisor online survey platform and, in India, on its IndiaBus platform. They are first reported each month by LSEG as the Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI).

Ipsos Bright Horizons Insights is a global Ipsos study that examines public perceptions in Indonesia regarding economic and social conditions, as well as future outlooks. The study serves as a strategic reference for businesses and policymakers in understanding public sentiment and navigating change.

Indonesian Consumer Confidence Index fell by -5.2 points compared to August 2025 and -9.2 points compared to September 2024, reaching 52.3 points. This decline places Indonesia at 9th globally, down from 3rd position in the previous month, although it remains above the global average (48.0 points). This trend indicates a shift in consumer sentiment, with Indonesians becoming more cautious in assessing economic conditions and their personal finances amid ongoing global uncertainty.
