Ipsos is conducting this survey for Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, who are working together with The Ministry of Social Development.
This is an important survey to understand how you use transport and your feedback will help make sure New Zealanders have easy access to transport for work, shopping, healthcare, and leisure activities. It will help us to understand how you use transport, your opinions and preferences, and to identify the issues that need to be addressed to help you have better travel options.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO IS IPSOS?
Ipsos is an independent market research company, one of the largest in the world, present in 90 markets and employing more than 18,000 staff. In New Zealand, Ipsos conducts market research for a number of companies and government agencies.
WHY WAS I INVITED TO TAKE PART IN THIS SURVEY?
We are interested in finding out about how people get around New Zealand, and we want to get a wide range of views to ensure everyone's voice can be heard. Although the survey is voluntary and you do not have to take part if you do not want to, we would like to hear from you to be sure the results represent a variety of people in New Zealand.
I DON'T USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT. IS THIS SURVEY RELEVANT TO ME?
Yes. We want to know how you get around, no matter how you travel. If you drive, walk, cycle, or anything else - we want to know!
HOW DO I ACCESS THE SURVEY?
The survey is accessed via the link in the email or letter you would have received from Ipsos on behalf Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport or at https://tinyurl.com/CommunityConnectSurvey
IS THIS SURVEY PRIVATE/CONFIDENTIAL/ANONYMOUS?
Ipsos is a research company, not a direct marketer. Your responses will remain confidential and will be anonymised and combined with the responses of other respondents before they are presented to Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport. Ipsos is bound by the Privacy Act and the Research Association New Zealand (RANZ) Code of Practice which prohibits us from identifying any person who takes part in a survey unless we have explicit consent from them to do so. The Ipsos Privacy policy can be viewed at https://www.ipsos.com/en-nz/privacy-data-protection.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY FEEDBACK?
Your feedback will be used to help Ipsos report to Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport on how to better understand how New Zealanders use transport, and to address the issues facing transport in New Zealand. Your feedback will be anonymised and then presented back as statistics to the Ministry by Ipsos. The survey responses will be kept safe and secure so unauthorised people can't use it. Any published statistics or research will not, and cannot, identify individuals. Ipsos will store archived data securely and, when it's no longer needed, destroy it. We'll share anonymised information with other government agencies for the purpose of statistics and research only. Only anonymised data will be provided to the Ministry. This means all personal identifiable information like name, email address etc is removed from the data. No organisation, including Ipsos, can get information that identifies survey responses from individuals.

At the end of the prize draw we will securely delete all personal data, leaving only anonymous research results.
