How Healthy Do Canadians Think Products are from a Selected list of Companies?

Toronto, Ontario --The attached chart is a clarification of the data that appeared on page B4 of the Thursday January 20th edition of the Globe and Mail.

Just over half of all Canadian adults believe that the products that bear the Tropicana, Quaker and Dole names are generally either extremely or very healthy.

Half hold the same belief about Minute Maid, Ocean Spray and Danone products. Kellogg's, Becel and Kraft lag only slightly behind.

At the lowest register on the scale are the products of Frito-Lay, Coke and Pepsi.

Theses responses were provided by a representative sample of 839 adult Canadians who participated in an on-line survey conducted in May 2004. Samples of this size are considered accurate to with + or - 3.4 percentage points 19 times in 20.

The question wording appears on the attached chart. Respondents reacted to a limited list of companies.
