Toronto, January 5, 2021 — Ipsos, the most innovative research and insights firm that transforms data into meaningful insights to solve critical business questions, today announces a new leader for its Canadian Market Strategy & Understanding practice. Cynthia Pachovski, who rejoined the company in October 2019, steps into the role with a view to further activate Ipsos’ digital expansion and advisory services. She will report to Gary Bennewies, president and CEO of Ipsos in Canada.

MSU provides Canadian clients with the foundational information they need to make strategic decisions about the market, their customers/channels and consumers/shoppers. As the largest business within Ipsos in Canada, MSU addresses business questions from branding and perceptions, to segmentation and targeting, to shopper tactics.

“Ipsos has put great attention on expanding our digital tools, solutions and technology to make its services more relevant and aligned with evolving market and client needs,” says Bennewies. “Under Cynthia’s leadership, we will be able to focus these efforts to take the next step of our advisory vision.”

A trilingual executive, Pachovski rejoins Ipsos with 20 years experience in market research across a multitude of methodologies, practices and industries. This includes 12 years leading business units and managing clients and research projects in diverse cultures in Canada, France, the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Southern Africa regions. Her Canadian experience includes working in Montreal and Toronto since 2013.

Pachovski most recently led Nielsen Global Media Canada’s Digital Solutions business. She earlier was with Ipsos France as general manager of French overseas territories from 2007 to 2012. In 2013, she and her family moved to Canada where she joined Harris Decima in a business development role. Nielsen later acquired that company and Pachovski became the leader of its Consumer Insights business in Toronto.  

“My international experience sharpened my ability to adapt to very different situations and bring people of diverse backgrounds together to be agile and entrepreneurial while working in a large organization,” says Pachovski. “Clients are increasingly demanding these qualities from service partners and Ipsos has always allowed me to do this and will continue to in the future.”
