Lifeng Liu Invited to the 7th Cross-Strait Student Market Research and Analysis Competition Finals

On August 19th, Chairman and CEO of Ipsos China Lifeng Liu was invited as judge of the 7th Cross-Strait Student Market Research and Analysis Competition Finals. The event was co-sponsored by the Teaching Guidance Committee of the Statistics Department of Higher Learning, Ministry of Education and Commercial Statistical Society of China, and hosted by Capital University of Economics and Business. Also served as judge of the Finals were Professor Yongjin Jin, President of Commercial Statistical Society of China, Professor Lizhong Ren, President of Chinese Applied Statistics Association, etc. a total of six scholars and experts.
The Market Research and Analysis Competition was launched to promote the development of academic, research, production and innovation practices in statistical surveys and related courses in universities across the Taiwan Straits, boost practical teaching in higher learnings, improve students' ability to connect theory with practice, thus turning out professionals for the industry. After the fierce competition, Shanghai polytechnic University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and the Bullfighting Team composed of universities from Taiwan won the Championship, First runner-up and Second Runner-up respectively.
Professor Lizhong Ren from Taiwan University offered many recommendations to students from an academic perspective. According to Professor Ren, most of the current teams rarely made enough explanations for research restrictions. As part of the research was unlikely to provide a 100% solution, it may reveal new problems, while the reflection on research restrictions was often the beginning of the next topic.
As a representative of the industry and judge of the event, Lifeng Liu commented that it was a very exciting competition where teams involved were excellent in the selection of topics, analysis, conclusions, on-site statements and defenses. He also mentioned that in the era of mobile Internet, everyone could speak directly to the world, and market survey and research were witnessing earth-shaking changes. He hoped that students could further explore data analysis and application, as well as conclusions, suggestions and implementation in the market environment of precision marketing.
