A cautious shopping approach prevails in Egypt, yet affluent consumers distinguish themselves with a more adventurous consumer behavior.

In this edition of the Spotlight*Egypt series, we delve into Egyptian shopper habits, where traditional shopping experiences dominate, with 93% 0f people favoring physical shopping experiences over online shopping. A more thoughtful approach to shopping is also clear, with people mostly planning their purchases (74%), seeking deals (66%), and opting to stick with brands they are accustomed to (66%). However, this narrative shifts within more affluent individuals, who are notably more open to online shopping, willing to explore new brands, and tend to be less focused on deal-seeking or strict purchase planning.
When it comes to information gathering on brands, the upper income group also shows a higher tendency to utilize online sources, especially social media, compared to the broader population.
