Ipsos India Happiness Report

Based on a year-long study, this report covers all 12 months of 2023 to tell us the state of happiness among Indians

IPSOS INDIA HAPPINESS REPORT

Released on the occasion of International Happiness Day 2024, this year-long study provides an in-depth view into the happiness quotient of Indians and the factors influencing it. Last year, in 2023, our annual Happiness Score reached a mark of 72%, suggesting a positive and contented outlook among Indians.

The report provides intriguing insights, indicating that health and personal finances are predominant contributors to the happiness of Indians. It appears that Indians find contentment within their spheres, their focus predominantly oriented inward rather than being significantly affected by the external circumstances of the nation or the world at large.

Interestingly, it also suggests that Indians harbour elevated expectations when it comes to their financial prospects.

This comprehensive report is compiled based on data gathered over twelve months in 2023 from the Ipsos Monthly Happiness Monitor. The Happiness Monitor is run every month on Ipsos IndiaBus, a monthly pan-India omnibus that covers diverse topics. Ipsos IndiaBus is fielded among 2200+ respondents per month from NCCS A, B and C households, covering adult males/ females across all four zones in the country. The survey is conducted across 16 cities - a mix of Metros, Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, providing a robust and representative view of urban Indians.
