Spotlight*KSA: Travelers’ Behaviour & Attitudes - International Travel Edition
Travel today is more intentional than ever. Two-thirds of Saudi residents (67%) say they stick to their budgets, yet many consciously spend more on comfort — considering it as prioritizing rather than overspending. They plan carefully yet leave room for spontaneity, blending structure with freedom. Women, in particular, are shaping this new traveler profile: two-thirds build their own itineraries while still relying on travel agents for logistics — balancing independence with convenience.
The desire to explore runs deep, with more than half (55%) aspiring to visit new destinations. Yet most recent trips remain closer to home, revealing a blend of aspiration and practicality where cost, safety, and familiarity often define the final choice.
Three in four travelers now participate in loyalty programs, signaling a more engaged and expectation-driven mindset. Still, one in three feels these programs have lost their edge; a clear call for more meaningful rewards and personalization. At the same time, technology continues to reshape the journey, with nearly half (44%) believing virtual exploration will soon become a standard part of trip planning.
