66% of Canadians expect Donald Trump to be on Santa's naughty list, 65% say Vladimir Putin

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin top Santa’s naughty list with two thirds (66%) of Canadians saying they would expect Donald Trump to be on Santa’s naughty list this year, followed closely by Vladimir Putin (65%). Diddy comes in third with almost six in ten (59%) putting him on the naughty list.  Half (50%) of Canadians expect Justin Trudeau to be on Santa’s naughty list (vs 8% who put him on the nice list). Over a quarter (27%) expect Pierre Poilievre to be on the naughty list and two in ten (21%) chose Jagmeet Singh. A similar proportion chose Joe Biden (20%) although over one in ten (12%) put him on the nice list. Healthcare staff top the nice list (54%), followed by Taylor Swift (43%) and Kate Middleton (36%).

These are some of the findings of an Ipsos poll conducted between December 6 and 10, 2024, on behalf of Global News. For this survey, a sample of 1,001 Canadians aged 18+ was interviewed online. Quotas and weighting were employed to ensure that the sample’s composition reflects that of the Canadian population according to census parameters. The precision of Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll is accurate to within ± 3.8 percentage points, 19 times out of 20, had all Canadians aged 18+ been polled. The credibility interval will be wider among subsets of the population. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error, and measurement error.
