51% of New Zealanders are happy with the red traffic light setting's balance between containing the virus and allowing us to live our lives. But the other half are torn - with a quarter wanting tighter restrictions and a further quarter calling to loosen restrictions.
One year on, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have an impact on the world and the way our daily lives operate. With the vaccination process having started in New Zealand, 51% of New Zealanders say they are likely to get the vaccine once it becomes available to them. One in five (18%) say they are not likely to get vaccinated and a quarter (24%) sit somewhere between, indicating they are likely to need some level of persuasion. A further 7% have not yet made up their mind.

The Ipsos Global Advisor Study regularly asks respondents from around the world, including New Zealand, for their views on different topics. Recently, Ipsos conducted a study to understand perceptions around what 2021 may bring. Over 20,000 men and women across 31 countries were surveyed. In New Zealand, 1,000 people aged 18–74 participated in this survey and expressed their views.
