The newly released NZ edition of the Ipsos Global Health Service Monitor reveals that 75% of New Zealanders feel our health system is over-stretched, significantly higher than the global average. Just 43% of New Zealanders believe that the country’s healthcare system provides equitable care, and New Zealanders are significantly more likely to express concerns about staffing shortages.

A quarter of New Zealanders currently have poor levels of mental and emotional wellbeing, including nearly a third of women, according to a recent study commissioned by the Mental Health Foundation (MHF).
The study, conducted by global research company Ipsos, provides an insight into the wellbeing of New Zealanders and was administered at the end of 2020, following nearly a year of living through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The final edition of Ipsos Update of 2020 includes research and analysis on key topics including health, sustainability, gender equality and retail. We also look at public opinion on international security and the reputation of different countries around the world.

Half see the virus as a threat to the world and a majority in all countries believe that it will take several months or longer to contain.
