KSA's Linear TV Viewership in Ramadan Amid COVID-19

Linear TV in KSA hits a home run during Ramadan 2020.

This report highlights the main trends and KPIs of Linear TV’s performance in KSA and the overall viewership during the first week of Ramadan 2020. It also compares the current period to the first week of Ramadan 2019, in order to pinpoint the changes that are witnessed this year, especially in light of Coronavirus.

On an overall level, the results of Week 1 indicate that the average time spent viewing TV this Ramadan exceeds the first week of 2019 Ramadan by 48 minutes, reaching a total Average Time Spent (ATS) of 6 hours and 11 minutes. The results also prove that the “stay-at-home” situation happening during Ramadan this year has resulted in a surge in news and series viewership, further proving that series programs are here to stay.
