MAJORITY OF CANADIANS ARE TUNED-IN TO WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS CANADIANS GET AVERAGE SCORE OF 60% ON "TRUE/FALSE" WIRELESS POP QUIZ
-Canadians score 60% on the wireless knowledge quiz-
-43% deem today's wireless telephones to be more like hand-held computers than merely mobile voice communications products-
When given a test that quizzed their knowledge on the state of wireless technology in Canada, Canadians received an average grade of 60%. The test consisted of 10 true/false questions dealing with the functionality, confidentiality, pricing, and integration of current wireless technologies in Canada.
Those under the age of 35 (scored 65%), residents of Quebec (scored 65%), males (scored 63%), university graduates (scored 65%), and affluent Canadians (those earning over $60,000 scored 64%) show a higher awareness and understanding of the current state of wireless communications in Canada.
In addition, likely resulting from the continued onslaught of innovations in wireless technology over the past few years, over four-in-ten (43%) do indeed perceive today's wireless telephones to be more like hand-held computers, that can be used for multitasking purposes, rather than simply viewing them as mobile voice communications products.
With a total national sample of 1,514, one can say with 95 percent certainty that the results are within +2.5 percentage points of what they would have been had the entire Canadian adult population been polled. The margin of error will be larger within regions and among other sub-groupings of the survey population.
