Rising optimism in the world’s fourth-largest economy reflects growing domestic demand, expanding employment, and a positive outlook for 2026, according to the LSEG–Ipsos Primary Consumer Sentiment Index.

These findings are based on data from a monthly 29-country survey conducted by Ipsos on its Global Advisor online survey platform and, in India, on its IndiaBus platform. They are first reported each month by LSEG as the Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI).

As 2024 drew to a close, the sentiment among Indians reflected a nuanced mix of hope and caution regarding the year ahead. While there is a desire for improvement and a better future among Indians, there is also a recognition of the challenges and uncertainties that lie ahead.
