Ipsos Opinion Poll - 7 days to General Elections, Mr. Odinga Leads in the Presidential Race

PRESS RELEASE - NAIROBI August 2, 2022: With less than a week to the August 9 Election, Mr. Raila Amolo Odinga is the candidate most voters would choose. The latest opinion poll by Ipsos in Kenya shows the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate would win 47% of the total votes if elections were held on the day the interviews were conducted.

2020 Monthly SPEC Poll (June - July) - School Reopening

More than 50% of Parents with school-going children intend to take up some responsibility in keeping their children busy until school reopens. Three-quarters of Kenyans with Children in Primary school did not support the reopening of schools in September 2020 Indiscipline cases (due to school closure) a big concern for parents. Uncertainty on Government preparedness to handle the spread of COVID-19 in Education institutions.

While the President broke a record of sorts meeting three leaders in a span of one week, it will be the outcome of the meetings that Kenyans should be interested in…the meetings have presented Kenya with an opportunity to perhaps get the best from the antagonist ends that is [sic] the West and the East – with the US and UK as the epitome of Western influence. China represents the East.

Awareness of Current Corruption Scandals

This report is the result of Ipsos’ 2nd Quarter national SPEC household survey conducted between 25th July and 2nd August, 2018. The survey covered a broad range of economic, political and other subjects in addition to the main focus included here: the governance issue of corruption. Presidential race now close enough for voter turnout to make the difference

Currently, more than nine-in-ten (93%, with nearly identical partisan figures) claim to be registered voters (though the fact that not all could name their polling station likewise raises a question about the reliability of these figures).
