14th Ipsos NZ Issues Monitor - June 2021

More than half of New Zealanders concerned about housing issues, with support for the government continuing to fall

Auckland, 19 July 2021 – More than half (53%) of New Zealanders rate housing as a top issue in society – twice that of any other issue. Housing has consistently been the top concern by far since Ipsos began tracking in 2018.

The government’s performance rating soared during the height of the pandemic (May ‘20 – 7.6) but has continued to decline for the past couple of waves (Jun ‘21 – 6.4) However, it remains higher than pre-pandemic  levels (Mar ‘20 – 5.8).
