[5월5일, 중앙SUNDAY] 한국 사회를 분열시키는 가장 큰 갈등요인은 ‘정치적 견해를 달리하는 사람 간의 갈등’(61%)으로 조사됐다. 영국 BBC가 여론조사기관 입소스에 의뢰해 지난 1~2월 전 세계 27개국을 대상으로 한 조사 결과다. 같은 질문에 대해 연정(聯政)과 협치(協治)의 정치문화가 자리 잡은 유럽 선진국들의 경우 답변이 20%대라는 점에서 한국의 정치 갈등 수준은 심각하다. 또 정치적으로 견해를 달리하는 사람에 대한 불신 정도는 27개국 중 단연 1위였다. 한국민의 35%는 가장 신뢰할 수 없는 집단으로 ‘정치적 관점이 다른 집단’을 꼽았다. 프랑스(7%)의 5배에 이른다.
