Reaching eight editions in Romania, the international Superbrands programme rewards those brands providing quality, deserving trust and achieving distinction in their market, while at the same time being recognized and appreciated among both industry experts and consumers.
The Superbrands Gala this year took place under the symbolic slogan “Brands Kingdom: 100 Years, Centuries Ahead”, marking the centenary of the Grand Union in 1918. Benefiting from the exceptional attendance of His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania and the ambassador of the United States of America, His Excellency Hans Klemm, the event brought together top business executives, key opinion leaders, journalists, members of the Superbrands Council, other personalities.
One of the highlights was the launch of the volume titled “Superbrands: An Insight into Some of Romania’s Strongest Superbrands 2017”, a high-quality book honouring brand excellence. Throughout the evening, 30 organizations received the Superbrands Romania awards, and 7 brands were honoured for their centenary activity.
To achieve the Superbrands status, organizations and brands need to go through an extensive validation process, following a methodology which is applied consistently at global level:
-in the first stage, members of the Superbrands Council (including 30 opinion leaders acting in fields such as Marketing, Management, Communication, and Branding) assessed the performance of more than 1,200 brands in 52 categories, using a common set of criteria and values.
-following this stage, more than 650 brands have been selected for the Consumer Vote. For every edition, 1,500 Romanian consumers take an online survey and evaluate brands based on the values of the Superbrands programme: Quality, Reliability and Distinction.
370 organizations in various domains and industries have qualified in this edition, based on research conducted by Ipsos.
Additionally, Council members voted for the Business Superbrands. Best performing categories were IT&C, consultancy and banking.
Ipsos Romania proudly supports the Superbrands programme, by conducting the online studies for Council and Consumer voting stages, and analysing the data following the globally approved methodology.
“We are honoured to be part of this programme, which is highly appreciated by acknowledging the value that successful brands deliver to consumer lives, and due to the prestige associated with winning brands, which accede to a select, globally-recognized league. It is encouraging to notice the consistent presence of Romanian brands in the recent editions; this year, 3 in 10 Superbrands come from Romania”, says Dorian Cazacu, Head of Shopper, Segmentation & Marketing Mix - Ipsos South-East Europe, who coordinated the research.
