What are the predictions of Saudi Arabia's residents for 2020?

The general public predictions on key issues regarding world affairs reveal that the majority of KSA's residents believe that temperatures will be on the rise in 2020. Also, 38% foresee that global stock markets will be taking a plunge during the same year, not to mention the reelection of president Trump in the United States.

Society and Culture

As for predictions about the Saudi society and culture, 61% are confident that women will be paid the same salary as men for the same work in 2020. When it comes to sports, they are also optimistic and the majority predict that Saudi Arabia will be winning more medals in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in comparison to the previous years.


Technology also had its fair share from the predictions of Saudi residents who believed that more people will be spending time online in 2020, than watching TV. Also, more than 50% of those surveyed responded that they will be streaming videos online rather than watching TV. They also seemed to be accepting of self-driving cars, which they anticipate are going to become a usual site in the streets of their city.

Reflecting on 2019 and Outlook for 2020

Reflecting on the previous year, 54% of the respondents stated that 2019 was a bad year for them and their families and 46% of them said that it was a bad year for Saudi Arabia. However, their outlook for 2020 was very positive, whereby 84% were optimistic that 2020 will be a better year for them. Also, on a personal level, 86% will be making some personal resolutions to do specific things for themselves or others in 2020. On a broader spectrum, most of them (74%) believed that the global economy will be stronger.
