Age-Friendly Cities
On behalf of Help the Aged (2006/7), Ipsos conducted a qualitative evaluation among older people (aged 60+) and service providers from the voluntary, public and private sectors to understand the characteristics of an 'age-friendly' city. This was part of a global study coordinated by the World Health Organisation, covering 33 cities worldwide. The research in London involved discussion groups with older people from across the boroughs of Newham and Waltham Forest. Group profiles were designed to be representative of older people in these areas, as well as representative of a wide range of levels of disability.
