Private Sector Staff Have 'More Corporate Pride'
MORI Social Research Institute and The Work Foundation have launched the first Workers' Index, the start of an ongoing series to monitor trends in the workplace. The results show that more workers in the private sector than in the public sector believe that their organisations know where they are going and feel pride in what their organisation delivers to customers and clients.

Trust In Online Resources
More people use the internet than do not, and half (49%) say they know at least a fair amount about the world wide web, according to new research from MORI. The project, for the Common Information Environment (CIE) group, found the reputation of an organisation and the trustworthiness of the content of websites are important factors in determining people's attitudes towards online information resources.

If an authority is perceived to provide generally good quality services and good value for money, then it is highly likely to also achieve strong satisfaction ratings. Indeed, perceptions on these attributes are consistently shown to be the strongest drivers of overall satisfaction across different studies and across key sub-groups within the population.

Public Satisfaction With Local Government
Ratings of local government fluctuate over time, with perceptions of the institution consistently less well regarded than individual service areas. Latest findings show signs of a potential recovery after notable declines in ratings since the late 1990s. When asked to identify reasons for satisfaction/dissatisfaction with their local authority, residents typically find it difficult to pinpoint specific reasons, highlighting the complex set of issues which underpin a council's reputation. Corporate Security
IT and network security are the greatest security concerns for members of the CBI, according to new research from MORI. The research, jointly commissioned by CBI and QinetiQ, shows a large majority (97%) of members have either great or some concern about the overall security of their business. Almost three in five (58%) say IT and network security is a great concern, while two in five name 'Provision of standby facilities for business continuity purposes' (41%), 'Risk to brand value of security incidents' (40%) and 'Risk to employees of security incidents' (38%).
