
Purpose + Mission
We offer a wide variety of solutions, which allows us to tailor our approach to the individual needs of each client. These include qualitative and quantitative research, process and impact evaluation, and secondary data analysis. These solutions allow us to understand:
- How and why businesses grow and prosper
- The challenges faced by different types of businesses, such as small businesses, or those in the tech industries
- How the UK trades with other countries, and what businesses and the UK public think about this
- How UK organisations can meet their Net Zero commitments
We also frequently collaborate with Ipsos Public Affairs’ specialists in behavioural science, strategy and advisory work, communications research and testing, and international research.
Senior leadership team
Jayesh Shah, Research Director, Ipsos Jayesh has carried out research and evaluation projects in Ipsos’ Trade, Innovation and Enterprise (TIE) team and associated policy areas (business growth, access to finance, skills shortages and gaps, trade deals and barriers to trade) for around 16 years. He became head of the TIE team in early 2022. | Amrita Sood, Research Director, Ipsos Amrita is a qualitative research specialist with over 20 years’ experience across a wide range of policy areas. Her work in the TIE team has covered tax policy, trade deals, trade barriers and access to finance. She became Deputy Lead of the TIE team in January 2023. | Allan Simpson, Director, Ipsos Allan has 20 years of research and project management experience. His Ipsos experience is varied, including large domestic and pan-European quantitative surveys, as well as complex global quantitative surveys with numerous stakeholders at national and international level. He became the Deputy Lead of the TIE team in January 2023.

Insights
We are currently working on various projects, which explore topics such as AI, cyber skills and economic crime. We also work on several evaluations, which currently include the AI Upskilling Fund, Made Smarter Adoption and Fast Start programme evaluations. Examples of topics covered in our recent work include:
- Sectoral analyses of the UK AI sector and the UK cyber security sector, assessing the size and growth of both sectors, as well as their contribution to the UK economy
- Qualitative research and secondary data analysis to explore the role of trust and safety in the UK digital economy
- A mixed-methods study into how businesses use and transfer data, and comply with data protection law
- Qualitative research on micro and small businesses’ attitudes towards debt
- Quantitative research with individuals who rent rooms in their own homes and receive tax relief
- A survey of employers to examine experiences of applying for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and its impacts
