Commenting on the findings of the survey, Parijat Chakraborty, Country Service Line Leader, Public Affairs & Corporate Reputation, Ipsos India said, "Despite a minor decline in happiness levels, urban Indians largely remain upbeat and happy, shows our monthly IndiaBus Happiness Monitor which is a pan India exercise and gauges happiness levels of urban citizens in 16 cities and across demographics to provide a more realistic picture. Interestingly, close family ties, robust health, friends’ circle and neighbours are the biggest contributing factors to happiness. Some of the macro factors like economic conditions, situation in the country and the world, also have a bearing on happiness. But among those working, happiness around work and happiness around colleagues has seen a slight dip, though they continue to be big contributors to happiness. What could be ratcheting down happiness around work and colleagues could be the expectation to work from office now, or less job opportunities to switch or not satisfactory salary increases."

Ipsos IndiaBus is a monthly pan India omnibus (which also runs multiple client surveys), that uses a structured questionnaire and is conducted by Ipsos India on diverse topics among 2200+ respondents from SEC A, B and C households, covering adults of both genders from all four zones in the country. The survey is conducted in metros, tier1, tier 2 and tier 3 towns, providing a more robust and representative view of urban Indians. The respondents were polled face to face and online. We have city-level quota for each demographic segments that ensure the waves are identical and no additional sampling error. The data is weighted by demographics and city-class population to arrive at national average. For happiness index, two waves rolling data were used. Rolling data is calculated as an average of 2 months data point. Field work was conducted on:
