Big Breakfast Evaluation

This Ipsos survey asked parents about their knowledge of, and attitudes towards, the Big Breakfast Initiative, a free breakfast service available to all primary school children across Glasgow.

Ipsos was commissioned by Glasgow City Council to conduct a telephone survey among parents of primary school pupils.

The survey asked parents about their knowledge of, and attitudes towards, the Big Breakfast Initiative, a free breakfast service available to all primary school children across Glasgow.

We examined current uptake of the Big Breakfast initiative, and explored the reasons for attendance/non-attendance at breakfast clubs, levels of satisfaction with the service, and views on improvements to the service.

Technical Details

Results are based on a telephone survey of 106 parents of children at state primary school (or who have just left state primary school and are aged 13) or special education school in the Glasgow City Council area. The sample was derived from the Glasgow Citizens Panel.

Interviews were conducted from 13th - 26th November 2006.
