A recent MORI poll shows that nearly two thirds of the British public (64%), think that it is a good idea for the issue of legalising cannabis to be debated and that they would think no less of the Government if it allowed the debate.

The following are the responses on what the law in Britain on cannabis should be:

Just over half (53%) say they agree that using cannabis leads on to using harder drugs and (55%) believe that the police spend too much time prosecuting cannabis users instead of clamping down on these more dangerous drugs such as crack and heroin.
