Carbon Monoxide Be Alarmed Campaign Research
Eight out of ten (81%) households could be at risk because they do not have an audible Carbon Monoxide alarm, according to new Ipsos research released today by the Carbon Monoxide - Be Alarmed!160campaign. Carbon Monoxide is a highly poisonous gas that has no colour taste and smell, making it impossible to detect without an alarm.
About the campaign: The160Carbon Monoxide - Be Alarmed!160campaign was launched in October 2008. It is the national campaign to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by Carbon Monoxide. The campaign is funded and delivered by the Energy Retail Association on behalf of a broad alliance of organisations including energy companies, victim support and fuel safety charities and professional organisations and is supported by more than 40 other organisations.
Technical Note
- Number of respondents: 1,915 adults aged 18+ in Great Britain.
- Interviews were conducted in-home160face-to-face between 27th November - 3rd December 2009, via Ipsos's weekly Omnibus. 161 sample points were used across the country.
- Data weighted to the known population of GB adults: Weighted on Gender within Age, Region, Social Grade, Working Status and Ethnicity and Housing Tenure
