Times 2001 Campaign Polls Wave 4

MORI's fourth weekly election campaign poll for The Times
  • MORI interviewed a representative quota sample of 1,013 adults aged 18+ at 75 sampling points across Great Britain
  • Interviews were conducted face-to-face on 29th May 2001
  • Data are weighted to match the profile of the population
  • Results are based on all respondents unless otherwise stated
  • An '*' indicates a finding of less than 0.5%, but greater than zero
  • Poll conducted by MORI on behalf of The Times

Now that nominations are closed, MORI shows respondents the names of the actual candidates and parties standing in their constituency - only practical in a face-to-face survey. This reflects the ballot paper voters will face in the voting booth, and is the same methodology as used in MORI's final election poll for The Times in 1997. This reinforces the fact that the election is not a hypothetical exercise, reminds respondents that there are more than the two main parties contesting the election, and may help to focus them on the particular circumstances in their constituency.
