The 4th National Scottish Survey of Attitudes to Mental Health, Mental Wellbeing and Mental Health Problems
Ipsos was commissioned by the Scottish Government to undertake this survey in autumn 2008, having conducted the second and third waves in 2004 and 2006 respectively. The overall aims of the research were to examine the views and experiences of a representative sample of the Scottish population in relation to a spectrum of mental health-related issues; and to compare findings with relevant survey data. Specific areas explored in the research included: levels of mental health and wellbeing in the population; factors affecting mental health and wellbeing; experience of, and recovery from, mental health problems; and attitudes towards mental health problems.
