Attitudes to flag protests and border poll in Northern Ireland
More than three quarters of people interviewed by Ipsos for a BBC Spotlight opinion poll think the union flag protests should stop.
Ipsos carried out a survey for BBC Northern Ireland’s Spotlight programme on public attitudes to the protests in relation to the flying of the union flag. The survey also included a question on how. people might vote in a border poll. i.e. whether they would vote for Northern Ireland to remain part of the United Kingdom or for Northern Ireland to be joined with the Republic of Ireland outside of the United Kingdom.

Technical note
1,046 adults representative of the Northern Ireland population aged 18 and over were asked a series of nine questions between 17-26 January 2013. All interviewing was conducted on a face to face basis via Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). Data are weighted to match the profile of the population.
