Research by MORI examining the role of the car in modern industrialised nations has been published in a FIA Foundation report. The report brings together key transport statistics and data relating to the car, on issues such as road safety, the environment and cost.

MORI interviewed almost 12,000 motorists across eight countries (G7 and Spain) to find out what people really think about the role of the car in their lives. The British interviews took place at the time congestion charging was being introduced in London, and so the related issues of congestion and pollution were a recurrent theme.
