The City Opinion Survey establishes the perceptions which Investors and Analysts have of organisations and the issues affecting them. Such knowledge is crucial for an effective relationship which can help ensure fairly valued shares and optimise IR activities.

  • This survey was conducted among British institutional investors and investment analysts by MORI.
  • The investor sample was drawn from Crawford's Directory and includes major insurance companies, investment trusts, investment management groups, unit trusts and self- investing pension funds.
  • UK equity fund managers in the top investing institutions were approached and 104 interviews conducted (36% response rate) conducted face-to-face, between 15 June and 14 July, 2000.
  • Each sponsor of the survey could nominate analysts who follow its sector.
  • Interviews with analysts were conducted by telephone. These took place between 22 June and 28 July, 2000, and were conducted by experienced executive interviewers at MORI Telephone Surveys.
