Breast Cancer Campaign calls for the simplification of Gift Aid requirements for small workplace donations.

The leading research charity commissioned Ipsos to conduct research to coincide with their flagship fundraiser,  wear it pink to emphasise the huge amount of additional revenue the charity could receive with a greater awareness of Gift Aid amongst UK taxpayers and more widespread Gift Aid declarations, even when making a small donation.

Research conducted by Ipsos on behalf of Breast Cancer Campaign reveals one third of workers (33%) in the UK know nothing about the charitable giving scheme, with includes one fifth (21%) who have never even heard of it. A large proportion (45%) of employees who have made a cash donation to charity in the workplace have never filled out an accompanying Gift Aid declaration.

Technical note

Two nationally representative samples were interviewed face-to-face between 21 September and 10 October 2012: a sample of 1,354 UK adults aged 18+ in employment, and a further sample of 1007 adults aged 18+.
